pleated jumper for 18 inch doll

This is the first one I made and I'm really happy with how it came out so I decided to make another and try to write down the pattern this time.  Who knows when I may want to do it again in the future?

Things you need:
Size 6 DPNs, Size 6 regular needles, Stitch Holder

Pattern

1. Start with color 1 and cast on 96 stitches divided evenly among 3 of the DPNs (that's 32 each)

2. K4 P4 repeat through the round and continue so that the wide ribs appear to be pleats

You can make the skirt any length desired, I did 3 inches.  She's an 18" doll and this has a "drop waist" so you don't want to make it too long.

3. When you get the desired length complete 1 round in knit only and then change to color 2

4. knit one round

5. *k2, k2 tog *repeat to end of round so 72 stitches remain

6. knit one round

7. *k2, k2 tog * repeat to end of round so 55 stitches remain

8. knit row  to the end of the round but this is where we start the back opening so at the end of this row turn and purl the next row (this is the last row in color 2)

9. switch back to color 1 and continue in stockinette stitch for 14 rows - by the end of this time your piece should be on the straight needles, or still on DPNs whichever you prefer, and now it's time to divide the front  from the back

10. Divide 13 for back side 1, 29 for front and 13 for back side 2

11.  Back side 1 (put all but the 13 on the stitch holder)
(row 1) k 11 then k 2 tog
(rows 2-12) continue in stockinette stitch for 11 rows
(row 13) knit row: bind off 3 then k 9
(row 14) p 7, p 2 tog
(row 15) k 2 tog, k 6
(row 16) bind off 7

12. back side 2 (leave the 29 on holder)
(row 1)  k 11 then k 2 tog
(row 2) p 12 and cast on 4 (these 4 are for the snaps)
(rows 3-12) continue in stockinette stitch for 10 rows
(row 13) knit row: bind off 7 then k 9
(row 14) p 7, p 2 tog
(row 15) k 2 tog, k 6
(row 16) bind off 7

13. Front
pick up 29 remaining stitches from the holder
(row 1) k 2 tog, k 25, k 2 tog
(rows 2-8) continue in stockinette stitch
(row 9) k 13, bind off 1, k 13

For the 1st 13 stitches                       For the 2nd 13 stitches
                                  p 11, p 2 tog                                     p 2 tog, p 11
                                  k 2 tog, k 10                                     k 10, k 2 tog
                                  p 9, p 2 tog                                       p 2 tog, p 9
                                  k 2 tog, k 8                                       k 8, k 2 tog
                                  p 7, p 2 tog                                       p 2 tog, p 7
                                  k 2 tog, k 6                                       k 6, k 2 tog
then for both sides bind off 7 and sew to corresponding back piece

finish by tucking in all the ends and adding 3 snaps to the back.
